These Terms and Conditions govern the booking of tours and travel services offered by Local Expedition Agency E.I.R.L. (“the Agency”), based in Cusco, Peru, through this website, WhatsApp, email or at our office. By making a booking, the customer confirms they have read and accepted these terms.
1. Bookings
- Bookings are requested through our booking page by choosing the tour, date and number of travelers and entering the lead traveler’s details.
- A booking is confirmed once the Agency receives the deposit and sends the confirmation by email or WhatsApp.
- For tours that include Machu Picchu entry, train tickets or Inca Trail permits, the customer must provide the exact passport or ID details. Tickets are issued in the traveler’s name and the Agency is not responsible for errors in the information provided by the customer.
- Machu Picchu tickets, train seats and Inca Trail permits depend on availability from Peru’s Ministry of Culture and the rail companies, so we recommend booking as early as possible.
2. Prices and payment
- Prices are in US dollars (USD), per person, and include only the services listed under “What’s included” on each tour page.
- To confirm a booking, a 30% deposit of the total is paid online by credit or debit card through Izipay’s secure payment gateway. The Agency does not store card details.
- A 6% card processing fee is added to every online card payment (deposits and payments made through the Payments page). The exact amount is shown before you pay.
- The balance (70%) is paid upon arrival in Cusco, at our office or during the pre-tour briefing, before the tour starts, in cash or by any payment method the Agency accepts.
- Prices may change due to changes in entrance fees, train fares or taxes set by third parties. Once a booking is confirmed, the agreed price is honored, except for official fare changes beyond the Agency’s control, which will be communicated to the customer.
3. Services not included
Unless stated otherwise on the tour page, the following are not included: flights, travel insurance, meals not specified, tips, drinks, personal expenses or optional activities.
4. Itinerary changes
For reasons of safety, weather, natural disasters, strikes, road closures, government orders or other force majeure events, the Agency may change the order of visits, schedules or services, offering alternatives of similar quality. Such changes do not entitle the customer to compensation, without prejudice to our Cancellation Policy.
5. Traveler responsibilities
- Be on time at the pickup point and time indicated.
- Carry the original passport or ID used for the booking.
- Disclose any health conditions, allergies, special diets or physical limitations when booking. Treks and high-altitude tours require good physical condition; we recommend acclimatizing for at least two days in Cusco.
- Have travel insurance covering medical care and evacuation.
- Follow the guide’s instructions and the rules of archaeological sites and protected natural areas, and respect local communities.
6. Minors
Minors must travel with their parents or an authorized responsible adult. The Agency rejects all forms of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, in accordance with Peruvian Law No. 29408.
7. Agency liability
The Agency operates its own services and acts as an intermediary for third-party services (trains, hotels, entrance tickets, transportation). It is responsible for the proper delivery of the contracted services, but not for force majeure events, acts of third parties beyond its control or the loss of personal belongings.
8. Photos
During tours, Agency staff may take group photos for promotional purposes. Travelers who prefer not to appear in them can let their guide know.
9. Data protection and complaints
Personal data is processed according to our Privacy Policy. Our virtual Complaints Book is available to consumers as required by Peru’s Consumer Protection Code.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts of the city of Cusco, without prejudice to the consumer’s right to file a claim with INDECOPI, Peru’s consumer protection authority.
